Why build a fence?
There are many reasons you might want to erect a fence;
- Privacy
- Security
- Adds value to your property
- Aesthetic appeal
Whatever the reason it’s good for you to communicate with your builder exactly what you want to achieve so you can both work on achieving it together!
Practicalities to consider
Boundary lines
This can cause major financial issues if not done correctly from the start. Be sure you know exactly where your boundary lines are. This should be indicated on your council plans
Services
It is your responsibility to inform your builder of any services (plumbing, water gas etc) that might be interrupted by your fence prep.
Height Limits
Be sure to know what your fence height limits are in your area
Talk to your neighbours
The last thing we want is for you to be involved in some kind of neighbours at war situation! It is always good to communicate with your neighbours what your intentions are, who knows they might (and should really, but there is no law on it) want to chip in and help you pay for it!
Materials & Budget
Fencing material goes from standard fencing all the way to as fancy smancy as your budget allows. If you can give your builder an idea of your style & design ideas coupled with your budget this will enable your builder to show you realistic and achievable ideas.
